LANCIA FULVIA HF 1600
LANCIA FULVIA HF 1600
Better known as Fanalone. Evolution of the Rallye 1.3 HF from which it is distinguished by the Rallye 1.6 HF rear writing, the Vitaloni Sebring mirror, the large diameter Carello high beam headlights, the slots between the grille and the high beams and the fiberglass end caps. The engine is also available in a sports version (variant 1016) with 132 HP. The gearbox is a ZF-inspired 5-speed gearbox. The rims are in 6J13 light alloy, both Campagnolo and Cromodora.
The most important results in competitions were obtained by the Fulvia Coupé, especially in rallies, but there is no shortage of victories in track races and hill climbs. The debut in competitions took place at the end of 1965 with a 1.216 Coupé. Subsequently in 1966 the Squadra Corse developed a more powerful and specialized version called Coupé HF (High Fidelity). The car is approved without bumpers, with moving parts in Peralluman and side and rear windows in plexiglass. But power is never enough, so in 1967, on the occasion of the entry into production of the second generation of engines, Lancia created the Rallye 1.3 HF. The car was more competitive and achieved some success especially in the Prototype version with a 1321 cc engine first and 1,401 cc and 145 HP at 7,000 rpm later. On 1 October 1968 the legend was born: the Rallye 1.6 HF was approved in the Gran Turismo Speciale category. The car was spot on: the victories came despite the opponents being equipped with more powerful cars. The pinnacle of glory came in 1972 with the victory of the International Rally Championship, but we must not forget the exceptional result at the Marathon de La Route 84 hours of the Nürburgring in 1969, where a Fulvia Rallye 1.6 HF won the grueling race that took place competed on the German circuit using the Nordschleife and the Südschleife together for the last time, for a total of 28 km of track.
The car we present to you is built in Turin at the Lancia S.p.a. factories. in 1969. The first license plate of the vehicle dating back to the first registration is from Cuneo (CN) with the following identification codes:
• Chassis number: 818540001391
• Approval number: OM06925
• Engine number: 818.540
It was subsequently sold in Udine on 10/02/1972 and was registered UD225398. The car has participated in several motor competitions in recent years with a group 3 rally configuration. In 1979 at the international Saint-Vincent rally (see photo) the car was presented in group 4 configuration and was entered as such. Since then this configuration has always remained the same. The driver and owner of the car at the time was Mr. Passoni Renato, who participated and won in numerous rallies. The car featured a green and white livery with some red details. At the end of the racing career the car is stopped and deregistered so as not to have to pay car taxes. On 08/28/1990 the car was re-registered with the license plate UD649904 by the current owner who has looked after it professionally and always carefully since then. From the technical-sports passport we can deduce the considerable number of races carried out by the vehicle, always in group 4 setup in rally and uphill speed competitions in Italy and abroad. The car has always been fast and reliable, thanks to a robust and reinforced body, a group 4 tuned engine that delivers 144 hp and mechanics with attention to the smallest detail.
